Russia’s Novatek to buy gas liquefaction technology from Linde

MOSCOW, May 3 (PRIME) -- Russian independent gas producer Novatek has signed an agreement with Germany’s Linde AG to buy technology for natural gas liquefaction for the Arctic LNG-2 liquefied natural gas (LNG) project, Novatek said in a statement on Wednesday.

The company also said it signed agreements on cooperation within LNG projects with Technip, Linde AG and research center NIPIgazpererabotka (NIPIgaz). The agreement defines main cooperation conditions in designing and implementation of projects of LNG plants within the Artctic LNG-2 project and further projects of Novatek.

Novatek plans to start building the Arctic LNG-2 plant on the Gydan Peninsula in the north of West Siberia once it completes the construction of the Yamal LNG plant. The launch of the Arctic LNG-2 is planned for 2022–2025.
